WSU-Hoops VITA is a student organization (RSO) at Washington State University.
VITA stands for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, a national program developed by the Internal Revenue Service. We are one site among many VITA locations.
We are partnering up with Whitworth University now! Whitworth University accounting students have volunteered with VITA organizations for the past 14 years. Service learning is an integral part of the accounting curriculum at Whitworth. To further Whitworth’s Mission and to continue a long tradition of assisting community members with tax preparation services, Whitworth has partnered with WSU this year to deliver services virtually.
Who do we help?
The VITA program has operated for over 50 years, offering free assistance with federal income taxes for U.S. citizen and resident alient taxpayers with relatively uncomplicated tax returns:
- Who earn $57,000 or less,
- Are persons with disabilities, or
- Have limited English-speaking ability.
What do we do
We help low income individuals in the community file their taxes for free! Those individuals include students and residents in and around the Pullman area.
We do everything from filing taxes to answering questions.
When we operate
From Feb 20 to May 10th, 2021.
Every Saturday 12:00-3:00pm
